Schenectady man sentenced to 40 years for sexually assaulting a child

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- On Monday, William Lindley, 33, was sentenced to forty years in prison, followed by 20 years of post-release supervision. The announcement was made after Lindley was convicted of two counts of Criminal Sexual Act and one count of Sexual Abuse. Lindley was accused of fondling and subjecting an 11-year-old child to anal and oral sexual conduct in June 2020. The child was well-known to him, and Lindley committed these acts when her mother was at work. The child disclosed what happened to her mother in August 2021.Lindley will be registered as a sex offender when released from prison. A full order of protection for the victim was issued that will be in effect for 48 years.

Former surgeon to be sentenced for defrauding Medicare

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- On Monday, a former surgeon from Niskayuna agreed to pay $42,000 for defrauding Medicare. Steven A. St. Lucia is scheduled for sentencing on March 17 after pleading guilty to state healthcare fraud charges. St. Lucia admitted that his medical license had been revoked and he was excluded from participating in all Federal healthcare programs, including Medicare. St. Lucia opened Union Foot Solutions in Schenectady and applied for the company to participate in Medicare. In the application, St. Lucia lied about having his license revoked and claimed he never faced suspension or exclusion from Federal healthcare programs. The application was rejected since St. Lucia had been excluded from the Medicare program. Therefore, Union Foot Solutions could not receive Medicare payment. SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Schenectady Mayor Gary McCarthy declared a state of emergency for the city due to an impending snow storm. LOUIS - St. Louis native and three-time Grammy winner Nelly will perform at the 121st Missouri State Fair this summer.The hip-hop mogul is scheduled to appear at the fair's Grandstand stage on Friday, Aug. 18. Tickets are $50 for the track and $40 for the grandstand.Nelly is the fourth concert announcement for the fair. The parents of a student killed in a 2019 school shooting in Highlands Ranch have refused to accept a $387,000 payout from the school as they push to make more information about the attack public.Maria and John Castillo, parents of slain 18-year-old Kendrick Castillo, have not accepted the settlement money in a civil lawsuit they brought against STEM School Highlands Ranch, their attorney, Dan Caplis, said Monday.The parents hope refusing the funds will help them in a fight with the school over releasing more information about the May 7, 2019, school shooting.Kendrick Castillo was hailed as a hero after he rushed at a shooter who had burst into his classroom that day. He was killed and eight others were injured.
